Microsoft is offering customers looking to start using its Cloud-based PC management and security offering a few tips and tricks designed to simplify adoption.

I need to underline that the “Windows Intune Tips and Tricks” document offered by the software giant, packs only basic guidance, and that more advanced users will encounter no problems performing the tasks described in the guide on their own.

However, there will undoubtedly be those who can find the guidance useful, especially if they just started using Windows Intune.

The resource is available free of charge via the Microsoft Download Center, and guides users through the following tasks: setup service administrators, download and install the Windows Intune client software, and set up your Windows Intune groups.

Just as a reminder, the software giant continues to offer a trial of Windows Intune, which is also available free of charge.

Customers that sign-up for the free trial can test the PC management and security Cloud service for a total of 30 days, on no less than 25 PCs.

I myself took Windows Intune out for a spin for an entire month, and I must tell you that I was pretty impressed with what this service can do. My advice to customers that are not using any management solutions and are lacking in terms of security software is to at least try Windows Intune.

Once the trial is done, they can subscribe to Windows Intune, which costs just $11 per PC per month, and also comes with upgrade rights to Windows 7 Enterprise.

Microsoft already delivered on the promise of fast evolution for Windows Intune, offering the latest version of the service in October after it introduced it earlier this year.

Future versions of Windows Intune will continue to be made available at a rapid pace, continuing to offer benefits such as upgrade rights, not just to Windows 7, but also to Windows 8.
