Customers running Windows 7 can head over to the Windows Personalization Gallery and download a new theme which is guaranteed to offer some unique imagery.

No less than 10 beautiful wallpapers have been packed in the Surfing theme, with the label being a dead giveaway for the collection’s leitmotif.

With summer approaching, people around the world are bound to head to the beach for a tad of sun. Some of Windows 7’s users might also hit waves just like those depicted in the Surfing theme pack, so the wallpapers must be a welcome prelude.

“Surf's up! Catch a wave with this free Windows 7 theme that features the sounds of the seashore,” reads the theme’s official description.

As astonishing as views from inside the tubes can be, users that also surf are undoubtedly well aware of the immense power of the waves.

“The surfing theme puts you right in the tubes, hearing the roar of the waves and seeing the sun sparkling through the water,” revealed Jennifer Shepherd, site manager for the Windows Personalization Gallery.

In addition to the set of background images packed in the Surfing theme, users will also be delighted by the sound scheme that’s also included.

It’s clear that Shepherd went to a great deal of trouble to make the Windows 7 Surfing theme a complete visual and acoustic experience, and she pulled it off brilliantly.

Windows 7 customers will be able to not only see the waves, but also hear the water, including sounds of the ocean, seagulls, foghorns, etc.

As usual, users can right click the wallpapers and select Properties and the Details tab in order to get access to the metadata of each image.

In this manner they’ll be able to associate each image with a geographic location, such as Hawaii, California, New Zeeland, Canada, etc.

The Windows 7 Surfing theme is available for download here.
