Windows 7 comes with a consistent collection of content by default in a move designed to streamline the personalization of the operating system. But not only is Microsoft providing customization options packages inside Windows 7, the company also tends to an online destination of personalization resources, appropriately dubbed the Windows Personalization Galley. Still, content for tailoring Windows 7’s desktop to users’ taste doesn’t come exclusively from Microsoft, but also from third parties, and the “I’m a PC” theme is an illustrative example in this regard.

“Windows 7 has set new definition of Personalization. Windows Desktop Experience MVP from Pilani, Rajasthan – Ramesh Kumar, who authors a popular Windows blog, codes up useful Windows utilities, and contributes to online forums couldn’t escape the temptation,” revealed Abhishek Kant, Microsoft MVP Lead (South Asia). “Ramesh has released a Windows 7 Theme pack - I’m Windows 7 PC. It is combination of four wallpapers and uses the inbuilt sound scheme - Festival. Each of the four wallpapers has one of the Windows flag color.”

The “I’m a PC” theme for Windows 7 is available for download via WindowsValley, free of charge, of course. The four wallpapers combined for this theme come in orange, yellow, green and blue, accompanied by the “I’m a Windows 7 PC” slogan.

Users must have already come across the “I’m a PC” marketing efforts from the software giant, associated with the Life without Walls campaign. Life Without Walls is Microsoft’s response to Apple’s get a Mac ads, a marketing campaign put together by Crispin, Porter + Bogusky, and that kicked off in the fall of 2008. Crispin, Porter + Bogusky and the Redmond-based company invited PC users around the world to take pride in being PCs and part of a community of over 1 billion users. With the advent of Windows 7, the “I’m a PC” aspect of the marketing campaign evolved with the “I'm a PC and Windows 7 was my idea” twist.
