14 DAY TRIAL // An impressive collection of themes for Windows 7 users are currently available for download from Microsoft featuring stunning imagery used as the background of the home page for Bing.
Users will be able to find download links for the complete set of Bing theme packs for the latest iteration of Windows at the bottom of this article.
Of course, all the themes come from the Windows Personalization gallery and are being offered free of charge to Windows 7 users.
Theme packs are files tailored to the new Aero UI in Windows Vista’s successor, and as such they will only install on Windows 7.
The latest theme containing wallpapers used for Microsoft’s search/decision engine is Bing Dynamic. With Bing Dynamic Microsoft is offering just what the labels implies, a dynamic theme with Bing wallpapers which is set up to grab additional content from the Cloud, and automatically offer users new desktop backgrounds.
In this regard, Windows 7 customers will need to subscribe via RSS in order to receive additional content. The Windows 7 Bing Dynamic theme was released earlier this week, and Microsoft is already updating the theme.
Refreshed content was made automatically available, with the slideshow of wallpapers updated to display the new wallpapers, one of which can be viewed in the image at the top of this article.
But there are additional theme packs available for download, also focused on Bing content, some of which released earlier this year.
Microsoft is doing a superb job promoting Bing via the Windows Personalization Gallery. The fight against Google is as much about branding as it is about the quality of the search engines themselves.
And the software giant certainly needs a very strong brand if it is to erode Google’s dominance on the search and advertising market.
Although they might not appear so, Windows 7 themes are actually excellent vehicles for Microsoft to spread brand awareness for its search/decision engine.
