14 DAY TRIAL // Earlier this week, I told you that you could bring Tuscany landscapes and medieval castles to your Windows 7 desktops with the Terre di Siena theme from Microsoft. A new theme pack offered via the Windows Personalization Gallery will allow users of the latest iteration of Windows 7 to use imagery of unique landmarks from the Czech Republic as backgrounds. The Czech Architecture theme can be downloaded from Microsoft free of charge, as it has been the case with a range of theme packs offered by the Redmond company.
The Czech Architecture theme contains no less than seven wallpapers, and can be grabbed only from the Czech version of the Windows Personalization Gallery. Previews of the included backgrounds are available at the bottom of the screen. Earlier this month, the software giant updated the personalization content available to Windows users with a set of new wallpapers. One of the background images offered at the time has also been included in the Czech Architecture theme, as you will be able to see.
The Czech state, Bohemia until 1918, is one part of the dissolved Czechoslovakia, formed after the 1993 separation from Slovakia. One of the images in the theme pack illustrates the Karlštejn Castle, built in Central Bohemia, which was founded by Charles IV in 1348. However, there are additional recognizable landmarks, such as Tábor, a South Bohemia town dating back to 1420. And, of course, there’s also a background image taken in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic.
