The latest theme pack added to the Windows Personalization Gallery is bound to be the delight of fans of Rovio’s birds vs. pigs casual game.
After the title finally landed on Windows Phone 7, Microsoft started offering Windows 7 users the Angry Birds theme to customize their desktops.
“They have no wings. Their eggs have been stolen by pigs. So, yeah, they're pretty angry. Contemplate their mood at length with our free Angry Birds theme for Windows 7,” the software giant said.
The Angry Birds theme can be downloaded free of charge and installed seamlessly on Windows 7. Users of non-Windows 7 operating systems can still grab the theme pack for free, but they will need to extract the five wallpapers contained with the help of an archiver, and set background images manually.
Windows 7 customers have the luxury of simply double clicking the Angry Birds theme file, install it, and have the wallpapers rotate at specific intervals on their desktop.
As far as I’m concerned, la piece de résistance of the Windows 7 Angry Birds theme is the sound scheme that’s packed inside, along the wallpapers.
Users might have already guessed that installing the Angry Birds theme on their Windows 7 computers will also provide them with a variety of hilarious sound effects from the game.
Of course, those running Windows 7, but also earlier versions of the platform, such as Windows Vista and Windows XP, can also download the actual Angry Birds game. Rovio released Angry Birds and Angry Birds Rio in the first half of June 2011.
As of this week, Angry Birds is also offered for users running Windows Phone 7, with the mobile game available for download from the Windows Phone Marketplace.
