Download Free Microsoft Translator Installer for Office 2007

Back in August 2008 Microsoft made it easy to integrate what was then Windows Live Translator into the Office System. At that point in time, the Redmond company only permitted manually setting its machine translator in Office 2007 and Office 2003, but this is no longer the case. The Microsoft Translator Installer for Office went live on the Microsoft Download Center on April 6, 2009, and is now up for grabs. According to Microsoft, the Translator Installer is designed to integrate seamlessly with the following components of the Office 2007 and 2003 suites: Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, Excel, Publisher, Visio, and Outlook.

Essentially, Office 2007 and 2003 users no longer have to manually set Microsoft Translator as the default translator for the Research task pane in the Office platforms. “This download allows you to translate words, sentences or a full document using Microsoft Translator through the Research task pane for Microsoft Office 2003 and Microsoft Office 2007,” Microsoft revealed. “Microsoft Office 2003 and Microsoft Office 2007 currently use WorldLingo as the default machine translator in the Research task pane. This download will update the Research task pane registry keys to set Microsoft Translator as the default translator and WorldLingo as the fallback translator.”

What the Microsoft Translator Installer will permit end users to do is to leverage the software giant's machine translation technology in order to translate content straight from Office documents via the Translation icon that will appear in the Review tab. “This update adds Microsoft Translator as the default translator for the Research pane. To remove Microsoft Translator from the Research task pane you must manually remove it through Research Options. You may choose to override Microsoft Translator as the default by setting WorldLingo as your preferred translator on a language-by-language basis,” the Redmond company added.
