14 DAY TRIAL // Customers taking advantage of Microsoft Online Services have available a tool designed to streamline the process associated with performing network diagnostics, but also capable of harvesting configuration and logging data. MOSDAL is an acronym standing for Microsoft Online Services Diagnostics and Logging Support Toolkit, which is available free of charge via the Microsoft Download Center. According to the Redmond company, MOSDAL is addressed at customers of the Microsoft Business Productivity Online Standard Suite.
“The support toolkit performs network diagnostics and collects system configuration, network configuration, and logging information for service-based products. The logs that the tool generates provide data that helps technical support professionals troubleshoot configuration, network, installation, and other service-related issues. MOSDAL collects log files, registry keys, and configuration settings that would otherwise require time-consuming and labor-intensive collection by using separate tools,” Microsoft revealed.
MOSDAL comes with support for both 32-bit and 64-bit versions a range of Windows operating systems, including: Windows XP Professional, Windows Vista Enterprise, Business, Ultimate, Windows Server 2003 and R2, Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows 7 Enterprise and Ultimate. However, Apple customers won’t be able to take advantage of MOSDAL, as the toolkit is incompatible with current releases of Mac OS X.
