14 DAY TRIAL // New versions of the next iterations of Kaspersky security solutions have been made available for download. The Russian-based antivirus maker is right on track to delivering both Kaspersky Internet Security 8.0 and Kaspersky Anti-Virus build 8.0, and has marked yet another stage in the development of the products on April 10, 2008. Until now in Release Candidate 1 phase, the cooking process is advancing toward the next step, and a first taste is now up for grabs.
In this context, the Russian security company is moving Kaspersky Internet Security 8.0 and Kaspersky Anti-Virus 8.0 from RC1 to RC2. The development process jumped the builds numbers from 8.0.0.325 to 8.0.0.326, with the latter also being referred with the label of pre-Release Candidate 2. Kaspersky failed to point out when it plans to make available the full RC2 build, but the company is hammering away at the two products working to remove all bugs and glitches. At this point in the development process of KIS 8.0 and KAV build 8.0, Kaspersky plans more additional features, and is instead focused on resolving all the problems which are holding KIS 8.0 and KAV build 8.0 from going gold.
Kaspersky has had to deal with a variety of issues affecting HIPS (the host intrusion prevention system integrated with KIS 8.0 and KAV 8.0 - a proactive defense mechanism), the graphical user interface, Parental Controls, as well as generic errors. Despite the Release Candidate label, both Kaspersky Internet Security 8.0 and Kaspersky Anti-Virus 8.0 are still in Beta and as such various problems are inherently associated with running either of them. And since the two security solutions are not finalized, it is not recommended to run them in production environments. However, users can of course test-drive KIS 8.0 and KAV 8.0 in order to make an idea of what the final products have to offer.
