The Google Books iOS application, which reportedly offers access to over 3 million Google eBooks on your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad, has been updated to version 1.1.0.2247, which allows iPad users to read in Landscape mode, adds a new “Find” feature, and more.

Google Books 1.1.0.2247 brings both new features, and bug fixes, according to the developers of the app.

Falling in the former category are the ability to read Google eBooks in Landscape mode on your iPad; the "Find" feature, which shows all matches in the book as you scroll down; tapping “Get eBooks” signs into Google eBookstore with the username used to login into the app; an added clear no-network error message alert; and the removal of the magnifier.

Bug fixes include: overall application speed improved; 3-D page turning available on iPad on iOS 4.3; better Google eBooks downloading experience; better experience on iPad with 3G but no cellular data plan

Google eBooks is available only in the United States and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch with iOS 3.0 or later.

“Download our free Google Books app to start reading over 3 million ebooks on the go,” says the Mountain View search giant.

Features specific to the iPhone and iPod touch include:

- Stores up to 8,000 titles on average (based on 16GB model) - Recommended for iPhones with 256MB memory or above - Mobile eBookstore - Search within book - Adjust text size, typeface, line space - Night-reading mode - Free samples of books - Information about book - Offline reading - Worry-free archive

The iPad app goes a little further with the ability to stores up to 16,000 titles on average (based on 32GB model), and a native iPad interface for optimal reading experience.
