And create standards based websites

Microsoft’s third iteration of the Expression Studio is now available for purchase, and the Redmond company continues to provide resource designed to enhance the suite. One illustrative example in this regard is the Expression Web 3 Starter Kit. The moniker makes it perfectly clear that the Starter Kit is focused on Expression Web 3, which customers will need in order to leverage the resource. The same is not valid for the additional component of Expression Studio 3. The promise from the Redmond company is that the Expression Web 3 Starter Kit will help designers and developers create standards-based websites.

“Expression Web makes creating compliant standards-based Web sites faster and easier. With a state-of-the-art design surface that generates clean CSS, you can make design decisions on the fly, knowing that you're seeing a faithful representation of the final browser-rendered page. Drag and drop controls simplify adding rich media, such as Silverlight from Expression Blend, Flash, and Windows Media. And advanced Photoshop file import gives you complete control over imported layers,” Microsoft noted.

With Internet Explorer 8 aligned, for the most part, with such browsers as Opera, Firefox, and Chrome in terms of modern web standards support, it’s now simpler than ever to build a website and have it work seamlessly across a variety of rendering engines, with no impact on functionality, design, etc. Developers that have traditionally tailored their websites to IE6 and IE7 as a priority will now be able to leverage additional standards support in IE8 and to work less in order to make sure that their content functions in the same way across all browsers.

With the Expression Web 3 Starter Kit, devs using Expression Web 3 can take advantage of a range of assets, labs, and videos from Microsoft, set up to simplify the creation of standards-based web content. “And if you like to work in the code, Expression Web has you covered there too. With support for a broad range of essential Web technologies, such as PHP, JavaScript, XML/XSLT, and ASP.NET, you can use the same tool for both visual design and coding,” the Redmond company added.
