Download Free Call of Duty Elite Console App on Xbox 360

Activision has announced that the Call of Duty Elite console application is now available as a free download on the Xbox 360 console, and later today on the PlayStation 3, just ahead of the retail release of the full pledged Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 first person shooter.

Modern Warfare 3 is probably one of the biggest releases of the year, and Activision wants to make sure every new gamer that buys the shooter will be able to get into the all-new Call of Duty Elite online service.

The experience was announced earlier this year and offers a comprehensive service aimed at enriching the Call of Duty multiplayer experience, both through a free or a premium subscription, with things like stat tracking, social networking with friends from Facebook or those who you meet online in actual matches, as well as details about how players can improve their skills.

Now, just as Modern Warfare 3 is being released throughout the world, Activision has deployed the console application of Call of Duty Elite on the Xbox 360 and is getting ready to debut it for the PlayStation 3 later today.
