A new flavor of the Foursquare application is now available for download for the owners of BlackBerry 10 devices (and for older BlackBerry handsets as well), namely version 10.0.1.3468, with some appealing enhancements packed inside.

The application, meant to provide users with a simple manner in which they can discover and share places they visit, has been packed both with some revamped enhancements in the new version, as well as with a series of bug fixes, it seems.

According to a recent post on n4bb, the new application release comes to devices with a redesigned Explore feature, as well as with the option to tag friends in check-ins.

With the redesigned Explore function, users will receive more recommendations on a single screen, the application’s release notes unveil. Thus, users will be able to compare results easier than before, an option that should help them make decisions faster.

Other new features in the Foursquare 10.0.1.3468 for BlackBerry application include:

- Friend Mentions: Tag your friends in check-ins and comments! - Seamless Foursquare Specials for your credit card: Now you can sync Visa, Mastercard and debit cards to your Foursquare accounts to seamlessly unlock and redeem these new Specials - Connected Apps Gallery: Discover and install Connected Apps to enhance your Foursquare experience.

As mentioned above, there are also a series of bug fixes included in the new release, such as one resolving an issue with Action Items, which were not always clickable.

Another problem resolved in the new app flavor is related to Stats and Badges icons in the profile, which sometimes needed 2 clicks to activate. Furthermore, users were not able to click through to see people at a venue in the previous release, it seems.

The new Foursquare 10.0.1.3468 application is available for download for all BlackBerry devices running under OS 4.2.0 or newer, including the BlackBerry 10-powered Z10. It can be found on this page in the BlackBerry World.
