Summer is almost upon us, and it’s about time we all took some time to make plans for vacation, now that nature has fully come back to life.
For those who are in love with nature and would like some new ideas of places to go, there are two new
Windows 7 themes available from Microsoft to help.
Called Forests, the first of them will bring to the desktop of your personal computers a taste of the tranquility that dominates many of these vast wooded areas.
And since many forests are as impressive in spring as they are in fall, high-resolution images of trees losing their leaves were also included in this theme for your viewing pleasure.
“Something about forests stirs us. Dappled sunlight through a canopy of maple; gnarled, primeval trunks coated in moss; or the slender green serenity of backlit bamboo. Surround yourself with the living majesty of forests in this free theme for Windows 7,” Microsoft notes.
But there’s more to it. Since every tree was once but a tiny seed, the second new free theme for Microsoft’s Windows 7 operating system, namely Saplings, was meant to remind us of this.
The mighty oak might not be as impressive when only a seedling, nor would a small fir tree feel much different from the lichens surrounding it.
The high-resolution imagery included in this theme will lay before your eyes the wonder of trees coming to life, determined to become as tall and impressive as their predecessors.
““Mighty oaks from little acorns grow" — but it’s kind of hard to believe when you look at the tiny sprouts in this free Windows 7 theme! They’re cute, and almost look eager, but these ambitious little seedlings have a seriously long way to go,” says Microsoft.
Both
themes were designed with Windows 7 (Windows 7 Home Premium, Professional, Enterprise, or Ultimate editions) in mind, but they should work just fine on
Windows 8 Consumer Preview as well.
