A new Firefox 7 Beta release is available for download, accompanied by a preview Build of the Next Beta refresh.

Mozilla has yet to announce the availability of Firefox 7 Beta Refresh 3, but early adopters can already grab the bits via the company’s FTP servers.

Just last week I was telling you that Firefox 7 Beta Refresh 2 was available for download, but Mozilla is moving quite fast, and as such, testers can now take a new Beta Build out for a spin.

Firefox 7.0b3 doesn’t really qualify for a Beta 3 Build, just as 7.0b2 wasn’t the second Beta of Firefox 6’s successor.

Essentially, Mozilla is shipping updates to the first Firefox 7 Beta it offered in August, and this is why new releases need to be referred to as refreshes.

In parallel with Firefox 7 Beta Refresh 3, early adopters can already download and start testing a preview of Firefox 7 Beta Refresh 4.

The Firefox 7 Beta Refresh 4 is also live on Mozilla’s FTP servers, but testers should be aware that this is not the fourth Beta release of the next version of Firefox.

The plan is to finalize Firefox 7 by the end of this month and to have it served to end users. Provided that nothing goes wrong for the remainder of this month, Firefox 7 Final will be made available for download sometime in the last days of September.

Since it’s still pre-release software, users leveraging the open source browser in production environments need to stick with running Firefox 6. Mozilla just released Firefox 6.0.1, an update to Firefox 6 designed to increase protection for users.

It’s critical to note that customers running older versions of Firefox need to make the jump to Firefox 6.0.1 as soon as possible.
