Download Firefox 3.5.7 and Firefox 3.0.17

Mozilla has made available for download the first releases of its open source browser in 2010. At the time of writing this article, Firefox 3.5.7 and Firefox 3.0.17 were up for grabs, with the company having yet to officially announce the release. And because there’s no official announcement, the details usually accompanying Firefox versions are also missing. However, Firefox 3.5.7 and Firefox 3.0.17 are indeed available, and the information detailing the changes that the new versions bring to the table will also be offered shortly.

A sure thing that can be said of Firefox 3.5.7 and Firefox 3.0.17 is that the releases are designed as security and stability updates for the open source browser. Usually, Mozilla makes a point of offering security and stability refreshes for Firefox 3.5 and Firefox 3.0 in tandem, and the latest updates are no exception to this rule.

At the end of December 2009, Mozilla offered early adopters Beta development milestones of both Firefox 3.5.7 and Firefox 3.0.17. At that time, the company indicated that the two releases were designed to fix “the following issues found in previous versions of Firefox 3.5: fixed a common stability issue; fixed a problem with how updates were being presented to users.” The Beta versions of Firefox 3.5.7 and Firefox 3.0.17 were delivered in concert to testers, and the same is valid for the final variants.

Firefox 3.5.6 and Firefox 3.0.16 were delivered in mid-December 2009, and it looks like Mozilla moved extremely fast to offer the latest versions. At the same time, the company is laboring to produce the first Release Candidate (RC) of Firefox 3.6, which is planned for release this month.
