14 DAY TRIAL // Music hobbyists and producers rejoice! FL Studio is now available in portable format for the iPhone and iPad, allowing you to never lose an idea for a song, wherever you are.
Softpedia confirmed last week that FL Studio Mobile was coming to iOS devices this month.
Yesterday we received word from the Belgian developer that Tuesday was the official launch date.
“Image-Line is pleased to announce FL Studio Mobile is now available from your local App Store,” Image-Line announced today.
FL Studio Mobile enables music creation fans to make complete multi-track projects on their iPod, iPhone or iPad and, if they want, load mobile projects into the desktop version of FL Studio and take them to the next level.
“If it's a beat on the step sequencer, a melody on the piano roll or a full song on the playlist, FL Studio Mobile has you covered,” says Image-Line. “Never lose that idea again. Get it down and happening wherever you are.”
FL Studio Mobile comes in two forms:
- FL Studio Mobile for iPhone and iPod touch (G3 and G4 with Retina display support) - $14.99 introductory and $19.99 afterwards; - FL Studio Mobile HD for iPad 1 and iPad 2 - $19.99 introductory and $24.99 afterwards
Users cannot initially upload their own samples (Image-Line plans to add support in a future update), nor can they employ VSTs, unfortunately.
Image-Line explains that “iOS does not support VSTs and frankly the devices it runs on don't have the CPU power to perform the synthesis you are used to on a desktop.”
However, FL Studio Mobile is pre-loaded with a bunch of high quality sample based instruments made from Image-Line plugins and sample packs that should keep you going for a while.
Key features also include: resizable, stackable piano keys & reconfigurable drum-pads; 99-track sequencer, Piano roll editor & Step sequencer; and WAV, MIDI & FLM (project) import/export.
