14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft is offering a free trial of Expression Studio 3 for download. Essentially, designers and developers will be able to download and test drive Expression Studio 3 for a total of 60 days. On July 22nd, 2009, the Redmond company announced that it was launching version 3 of its Expression line-up of products positioned to compete for the same professional audience as the Adobe Suite. But fact is that the Expression Studio 3, as well as the standalone components went live on the Microsoft Download Center at the start of this week, and have been up for grabs since then.
On July 22nd, “we announced the official launch of Expression Studio 3, a suite of professional design tools for creating Rich Internet Applications. This announcement comes shortly after the July 10th Silverlight 3 launch and the availability of the release candidate for Expression Blend 3 + SketchFlow. It is super exciting for us on the Expression Web, Expression Design, Expression Blend + SketchFlow, and Expression Encoder teams to showcase the final versions for the 3rd release of the Studio,” revealed a member of the Expression team.
There are no less than 4 components making up Expression Studio 3, namely Expression Web 3, Expression Blend 3, Expression Design 3 and Expression Encoder 3. Microsoft is offering 60-day trial versions of all products under the umbrella of version 3 of Expression for download. According to the software giant, Expression Studio 3 is designed to play nice with Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows XP. Of course, at the same time, the suite is available for purchase.
“The estimated retail prices for the United States in US dollars are as follows: Expression Studio $599 and Expression Web $149. Expression Blend is only available as part of Expression Studio and Expression Design and Expression Encoder are only available as part of Expression Studio or Expression Web. Expression Studio is also available as part of the Expression Professional Subscription for $999. Prices for international markets will vary, and all prices are subject to change,” the Redmond company noted.
