The evad3rs have promptly rolled out evasi0n 1.4 for OS X, Windows, and Linux users looking to jailbreak their Apple devices under iOS 6.1.2, the latest software update for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch rolled out hours ago from Cupertino, California.
Apple seems reluctant to patch the jailbreak vulnerabilities made public with the initial release of evasi0n a couple of weeks ago.
As it was the case with iOS 6.1.1, the new iOS 6.1.2 was released with a single fix addressing an Exchange calendar bug that could result in “increased network activity and reduced battery life,” according to Apple.
The update fails to address several other bugs, including a rather serious security flaw which allows anyone with physical access to an iDevice to bypass the passcode lock
and access sensitive information.
Users looking to jailbreak their iPhone / iPod touch / iPad under iOS 6.1.2 are told to do so using the latest version of evasi0n (1.4) which includes official support for Apple’s new firmware release.UPDATE: Evasi0n 1.5.3 is now out!
