Jailbroken iPhone 4S users who are required to update their handsets to fix connectivity issues will be glad to learn that Apple hasn’t patched the evasi0n exploits. In other words, iOS 6.1.1 doesn’t put the kibosh on your existing jailbreak.

Hacker David Wang (@planetbeing) confirmed the news on Twitter yesterday, saying, “Apple released 6.1.1 for the 4S only today. The JB still works fine. We will release an updated evasion that recognizes it as supported.”

So while evasi0n didn’t support iOS 6.1.1 officially (at the time Apple pushed out the software), the original iOS 6 untethered jailbreak was still a go.

Evasi0n 1.3 is now available with “support for 6.1.1 on the iPhone 4S,” according to the release notes issued by the evad3rs. You can download the jailbreak tool for your respective platform at the links below.
