A new update is currently available for Emsisoft Anti-Malware, which changes the suite’s build number to 8.1.0.19 (reviewed here).

The developer announced it as a maintenance release bent on increasing stability and user experience. However, important for the free version of the product is that Guard auto-run entry is no longer available.

The list of changes includes a fix for a potential deadlock situation occurring in the real-time protection module. Also available are repairs for several potential memory leaks. Furthermore, the issue with clicking the links in notification dialogs has been eliminated.

Some user reports informed of the program freezing occasionally; this glitch has also been eliminated.

Additional fixed issues touch on application links not working properly, tray icon being invisible in some cases and a problem with file paths being displayed incorrectly.

The fresh update aims to improve compatibility with the upcoming Windows 8.1 and third-party applications, based on catalog files.
