Edubuntu, the customized version of Ubuntu for educational use that can be used in the classroom, is now at version 12.10 Beta 2, along with its bigger brothers, Ubuntu, Kubuntu, and Xubuntu.

Edubuntu 12.10 Beta 2 may have been launched with every other distribution in Canonical's portfolio, but it has no new features or updates in comparison with the previous version.

What it does have is a very nasty bug that affects users who don't own 3D capable hardware. Since Quantal Quetzal has given up on Unity 2D, this problem has yet to find a solution, as it can be seen from the Launchpad entry.

Edubuntu 12.10 Beta 2 (Quantal Quetzal) includes Gnote, Klettres, KAlgebra, KGeography, Cantor, Rocs, and KStars.

Download Edubuntu 12.10 Beta 2 right now from Softpedia. Remember that this is an development version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
