A new flavor of the Dropbox for Android mobile client is now available for download for those who like to use the service while on the go.

The new Dropbox for Android 1.1.2 application can be downloaded via the Android Market for free, with a wide range of fixes and performance improvements included into the mix.

The development team of the application also notes that the enhancements included into the mix build on the previous improvements that the application benefited from.

“We just released version 1.1.2 of Dropbox for Android to the Android Market,” the development team notes in a blog post.

“We've made a bunch of performance improvements and bug fixes that should make the app feel snappier.” Users who download and install the application should head to this forum thread to provide their feedback on the bugs they might find.

As stated above, the new release of the Dropbox mobile client would include enhancements that were packed with the application in previous releases, such as fixes for Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) tablet compatibility, and more.

In version 1.1 of the application, the development team included a Lock Code option so as to secure the Dropbox from prying eyes, as well as improved checking for file modifications.

That version of the application also removed permission for reading phone state and identity, as this is not required anymore.

The new Dropbox for Android 1.1.2 hits the storefront only one day after the development team made available for download the Dropbox for Android 1.1.1.3 Forums Build, with snappier browsing and viewing of photos, along with fixes and improvements, but with no other changes.

Those of you who would like to download and install Dropbox for Android 1.1.2 on their devices should head to the Android Market here on the phone. The application is available for download from Softpedia as well, via this link
