The Dragon Age 2 demo has finally been released onto the web by its developer, BioWare, showing the players all of the new features in the upcoming role-playing game.

Without a doubt, one of the most anticipated sequels of the year is Dragon Age 2, BioWare's follow-up to its extremely popular RPG, Dragon Age: Origins.

The title will introduce a brand new character, Hawke, whose 10-year story will be filled with new adventures, characters from the first game as well as new ones and an overhauled gameplay designed to make Dragon Age 2 more intense.

In order to drive the point home, BioWare has now posted a demo of the game, which showcases the prologue of the title.

During it, you'll learn more about Hawke, you'll be able to customize his character class (warrior, rogue or mage), choose skills, powers and talents as well as go through some interesting adventures that will showcase the improved gameplay.

At the end of the prologue, gamers will enter a key new location of Dragon Age 2, Kirkwall, as well as befriend new companions, like Isabela, who Origins players will recognize from a brief encounter in that title.

What's more, the Dragon Age 2 demo will unlock a special item in the full game, called Hayder's Razor, an "ancient dwarven blade which increases health, mana, and combat abilities."

BioWare is also hosting a very special deal, for those who want to download the demo, entitled 'Call to Arms'.

If the PC, PlayStation and Xbox 360 demos reach a total of 1 million downloads, BioWare will also unlock two other items in the full game.

The items are two books, The Far Cliffs of Kirkwall, which gives money when read, and Lothering's Lament, which gives an XP boost when read.

All you need to do in order to ensure you get these unlocks is log into your EA account when playing the demo for the game.

You can now download the Dragon Age 2 PC demo right here from Softpedia.

Xbox 360 Gold users can already get it from Xbox Live while Xbox Live free users will be able to download it next week.

North American PlayStation 3 owners can download it later this day, while those outside the US will get it tomorrow night.

The full game will be available on March 8, in North America, and March 11, in Europe, for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
