Formerly restricted to iOS customers, Dolphin Browser is now available for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad with some revolutionary new browsing methods that involve gestures, rather than typing or tapping virtual buttons.

According to Mobotap, the developers of this amazing application, Dolphin Browser is “the most intelligent mobile web browser available that allows you to interact and engage with the web through your mobile device in the easiest, most intuitive way.”

The flagship feature is Gestures, which allows users to draw a sign with their finger on the iPhone’s screen and have Dolphin instantly direct them to a site. The function is accessible from the bottom menubar.

But there’s more to Gestures than meets the eye. You can assign a gesture for, say, adding a URL as a bookmark, or automatically scrolling to the top or bottom side of a page.

Another key feature that currently isn’t available in Safari (Apple’s own web browser) is Tabbed Browsing. As its name implies, it allows you to open multiple pages simultaneously and move between them without having to give up on any page.

Bookmarks can be organized in folders, and the Smart Address Bar auto-completes URL and context menus when you type the first few characters of a URL.

Desktop Mode lets you switch between desktop view and mobile view. There's also a Webzine function.

Last, but certainly not least, there are the two side bars - Bookmark and Tool Bar - that users can access without going through one too many clicks.

Users can access Tool Bar simply by swiping from the right edge of iPhone screen to left. The Bookmarks pane is accessible by swiping from the left edge of iPhone screen to right.

Dolphin browser is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad and requires iOS 4.0 or later. The best part, however, is that Dolphin is free!
