DisplayLink Driver, a cost-effective solution to connect a display and all of your peripherals to MacBook with one USB cable, has been updated to support new devices under OS X versions 10.6 and above.

Provided that you have the relevant DisplayLink-powered hardware, this driver allows you to connect up to 4 monitors to any Intel-based Mac with a free USB port. It also supports USB docking stations.

DisplayLink Driver 2.0 Alpha 2 adds support for DL-3x00 devices, as well as for DL-1x95 devices on OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard), 10.7 (Lion) and 10.8 (Mountain Lion).

The developer cautions that this alpha supports video output only, meaning no audio or Ethernet support. Some bug fixes are also incorporated in this experimental version of the 2.0 release.

The DisplayLink Driver is a free download for all users with an Intel-based Mac.
