Apple has released an update which adds RAW image compatibility to Aperture 3 and iPhoto '11 for the Olympus PEN E-P5. The RAW Compatibility Update also fixes a couple of issues.

“This update adds RAW image compatibility for the following cameras to Aperture 3 and iPhoto '11,” according to a tech note on Apple’s Support site. The only device mentioned in the list is the Olympus PEN E-P5.

These updates usually add support for the newest cameras and nothing more but, this time around, Apple is also throwing in some bug fixes.

Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update 4.09 restores lens correction to Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 images, and addresses issues with white balance involving some Nikon images modified by third-party apps.

Weighing in at 6.59 MB, Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update 4.09 applies to OS X 10.8.2 or later and OS X 10.7.5 or later.

The installer supports only a handful of languages, including Deutsch, English, Français, Chinese, Español, Italiano, Nederlands.
