Download DPM 2007 Configuration Analyzer

Are you running System Center Data Protection Manager 2007? Then Microsoft has just the right tool to allow you to verify the configuration settings of the product. DPM 2007 Configuration Analyzer went live on the Microsoft Download Center on July 8, 2009, and is currently up for grabs for free. According to the Redmond company, the diagnostic tool has been designed to allow end users to perform evaluations of key configuration settings associated with DPM 2007 servers. Essentially the DPM 2007 Configuration Analyzer is set up to ensure that System Center Data Protection Manager 2007 runs at optimal parameters.

“The DPM Configuration Analyzer (DPMCA) is a diagnostic tool you can use to evaluate important configuration settings on DPM 2007 servers. The tool scans hardware and software configurations of the DPM servers you specify, evaluates them against a set of predefined rules, and provides you with best practice suggestions that can make your DPM experience more optimal. You can install the DPMCA on any computer, and remotely scan a set of DPM Servers specified, with a specific user credential,” revealed Edie van den Berge, a partner technology specialist on the Microsoft Dutch PTS team.

When it comes down to performing backup and recovery in Windows environments, System Center Data Protection Manager 2007 is the solution offered by Microsoft. DPM 2007 plays nice with a number of applications in addition to Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2003, including SQL Server, Microsoft Exchange, and Windows SharePoint Services.
