CleanMyMac has added an advanced bug reporter to detect and fix possible errors in the future, according to MacPaw, the developer of the all-in-one cleaning utility for Mac OS X. CleanMyMac 1.6.1 is a free update for all existing users and a recommended one at that.

Speaking about the addition of a new bug reporter, MacPaw reveals that users can simply select “Report Problem…” from the Help menu, in case they experience any difficulties. The company also mentions a significantly decreased memory usage, the addition of services plugins cleanup, fixed known exceptions and minor interface improvements and bug fixes as part of the 1.6.1 update to its flagship Mac app.

For those who are not very familiar with MacPaw’s cleaning utility, CleanMyMac can delete useless files that pile up over time and waste valuable disk space, as well as slow down the system. Unlike simpler “cleaning” solutions, CleanMyMac combines features such as the ability to slim down Universal Binaries, delete unneeded languages, logs and caches, Quick Erase, application uninstallation, and the ability to fully erase trash left from buried applications. Using the preferences to select the default configurations you want, you can get even better results. With CleanMyMac installed and run periodically, your computer will work faster and smoother.

CleanMyMac requires a computer running Mac OS X 10.4.11 or later. The software is a Universal Binary, good for using on either a PowerPC or an Intel-based Mac. The key features of CleanMyMac include:

- All-in-one cleaning utility; - Intuitive UI; - Slims Universal Binaries; - Removes useless languages, caches and logs; - Accurate application, widgets uninstallation; - Completely erases leftovers; - Extensive preference options; - Allows your Mac to reclaim its resources; - Useful in the long run.

MacPaw is also busy working on CleanMyMac 2, a totally redesigned version of the app, starting from the icon, and ending with the support for third-party plugins. The update will be made available free of charge to all existing CleanMyMac buyers. Download CleanMyMac (Update / Trial / Buy)
