A new flavor of the popular Chrome browser is now available for download for the owners of Android-based devices, namely version 29.0.1547.32, though only part of the Beta release series for the application.

The new app version arrives on devices with several stability improvements, while also being meant to resolve a variety of issues that have been affecting the browser.

Some of these include the offset touch on Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0, as well as a series of Chrome UX issues for QVGA devices.

Furthermore, the new app iteration resolves a problem with date/time input min/max constraints that were off by one, the available release notes unveil.

Following the update, users will also see that an issue related to date input and preventing them from entering a date before 1970-01-01 in date or datetime-local fields has been resolved.

They will also be able to enter time between 00:00 and 00:59, as a bug that prevented that has been resolved too. There is also a fix for Japanese websites appearing in inappropriate fonts on Android.

However, given that this is only a beta release for Chrome for Android, users will still experience some issues with the application, including:

- Some WebAudio pages crash - Graphical corruptions while scrolling on Galaxy Nexus/ICS and Galaxy Tab 2/ICS - [RazrM] Flashes observed on entering and exiting fullscreen (user initiated) - Old embed code YouTube videos are not displayed  - [X86-Intel] Text gets duplicated when entering & unable to delete text in the text fields

Those who would like to learn more on the changes included in the new build should have a look at the SVN revision log, Jason Kersey from the Google Chrome team notes in a blog post.

“If you find a new issue, please let us know by filing a bug. More information about Chrome for Android is available on the Chrome site,” he also notes.
