"Xbox Live is 5ive"

Happy birthday Xbox Live! Microsoft's famous service turns 5 years old this week and we're the ones getting goodies on this occasion. The famous Carcassonne board game is now available on the Xbox live, in its full version and what's more important, for free. Microsoft has started offering the game since yesterday and it will only be available for a couple more hours, so you should hurry and download it. Don't fret though, as regardless of your connection, you'll get the game in no time, since it only takes up 45MB of your storage space.

We remind you that Carcassonne was released on June 27, this year and it was available for 800 Microsoft Points. The title stays true to the original board game recipe, as players will be using 7 followers to place random tiles around a map and they'll do that by taking turns. These tiles are the sections of certain environments, like castles, monasteries or roads. Imagine a combination between a domino and a puzzle game in order to realize what the game's all about.

Carcassone was designed specially for multiplayer fun, but you can also play a single player match if you please, instead of putting your skills to the test against a human opponent. You might want to know that the first downloadable pack for this board game surfaced on the Xbox Live back in July and it was available for 80 Microsoft Points. Let's hope we'll see many more free full game downloads these days in order to make the time pass while waiting for that major system update in December.

That will probably be the ideal time for all the 360-exclusive owners to go back a few years and play some major Xbox blockbusters from the old days. Till that time comes, it's Carcassonne day today, or at least for the few hours of free download that are left.
