CCC will no longer report errors such as “Could not find xattr #1”

An updated version of the backup/cleaning utility Carbon Copy Cloner is available for download on Macintosh computers running OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) and newer.

Mac users with system installations ranging from OS X 10.6 to 10.9 can download Carbon Copy Cloner 3.5.4 immediately and address various issues, such as occasional report errors (“Could not find xattr #1” or “Missing abbreviated xattr”).

Existing CCC users should also be glad to know that the software now removes its temporary private mountpoint folders. The developer explains that “Leaving these ‘stale’ mountpoints in place was occasionally exposing a bug in the Finder in which it would report an error -43.”

An issue where a weekly scheduled task (on “no days of the week”) could be re-enabled without specifying a day has been addressed as well. Other annoyances are also fixed, but the list of bugs is too long to discuss here.
