14 DAY TRIAL // CCleaner is steadily incrementing the version number and today Piriform released build 4.0.1 for their PC cleaning and optimizing freebie.
Most of the modifications available in the new release are improvements, but the developer informs that minor bug fixes are also included.
CCleaner 4.0.1 should do a better job with cleaning the history files in Google Chrome (review for version 26 here). Compatibility with Mozilla Firefox 19 and above has been improved and so is with Internet Explorer 10 (reviewed here).
The developer has optimized the cleaning algorithm for Windows Registry in the version 8 of the operating system. Users of CCleaner Pro also benefit from optimization of system and browse monitoring.
The new release of the application adds cleaning routines for the following programs: Adobe Acrobat XI, VSO Blu-ray and DVD Converter Ultimate, Oxygen XML Editor 14 and Connectify Hotspot.
