Piriform Ltd. have announced the sixth beta release of CCleaner for Mac noting that this should be the last beta version before the Final bits are rolled out.

The folks at Piriform are keeping their ‘fingers crossed’ to receive positive feedback from the Mac user base with this new release of CCleaner, a versatile cleaning utility that finds and removes clutter from your hard drive.

The latest version adds Cookie management, Repair Permissions, Wipe Freespace, Crash Reporting, cleaning of binary cookies and improved internet cache cleaning in Safari under OS X 10.7 (Lion), restore Default State option to cleaning rules, improved detection of application versions, and removing shortcuts from the Dock with Uninstall. Several minor stability fixes are also implemented.

The tool is recommended for advanced users only and supports Mac OS X 10.5, 10.6 and 10.7, as well as all current versions of Firefox, Chrome and Safari.
