New version keeps memory consumption at a minimum, requires Twitter login

BoinxTV Home 1.9.3 is out for Mac users with a few tweaks and fixes, as well as layers based on the new Lua Quartz Composer Patch to keep memory consumption down.

The new version requires a new Twitter login (via Preferences) from the user to get the Twitter layer working again, because of the discontinuation of the old Twitter API 1.0.

A warning will now be shown when an outdated, manually-installed version of a Quartz Composer Plug-In is found. Users are free to delete the old plug-in and update to a newer version if they want.

On OS X Lion and Mountain Lion, performing an AppleScript in the export field is now fixed, and “all layers are now based on the new Lua Quartz Composer Patch to keep memory consumption low,” according to Boinx Software.

The updated app can be allowed to send diagnostic data to Boinx Software, thus allowing users to lend a helping hand to the software engineers at Boinx Software.
