Blender Foundation released the stable version for Blender 2.68, which incorporates a large number of new mesh modeling tools as well as improvements to the existing ones. On Windows, performance enhancements are also available.

The new version provides a better bridge tool for connecting multiple loops at once as well as for bridging face regions.

As far as rendering is concerned, it should run faster now on both CPU and GPU, while Ray visibility is currently available for all light sources. Furthermore, hair rendering on GPU has been turned on. On the same note, the quality for smoke rendering has improved.

Additional improvements present in this revision include the availability of an option for removing all shape keys in one go or from mirror tools if verts cannot be mirrored. A full list of modifications is available here.
