Research In Motion (RIM) has just updated its synchronization software with support for more devices, such as BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha and PlayBook 4G tablet.

BlackBerry Desktop Software 7.1 has been uploaded in the Beta Zone, and brings the following changes: media sync enhancements including individual selection, sync by album, and customizable columns in collections mode; major bug fixes and PIM sync improvements.

Support for “new BlackBerry 7 OS devices” has been included as well, whatever that means. Minor tweaks and enhancements that improve the overall performance and stability of the software have been added also.

However, BlackBerry Desktop Software 7.1 is only available for download via Beta Zone, which requires a valid account. Those who do not have a Beta Zone account yet can sign up for one here.
