After zooming past six million downloads in the App Store, Atari has cut the price on its Greatest Hits iOS app to zero, allowing everyone to enjoy Missile Command for free. Players can collect up to 100 classic Atari games via in-app purchasing.

Updated with bug fixes just days ago, Atari's Greatest Hits lets you “relive the Golden Age of Gaming with a collection of the most popular retro games from the 70s and 80s.”

Don’t get too excited, though. The greatest hits Atari is talking about are actually in-app purchases. 100 classic Atari 2600 and arcade games including Asteroids and Centipede are unlocked across all devices associated with the player’s account, once the purchases are made.

The app itself is free and comes with original cabinet and box art. It supports the the official Atari Arcade – Duo Powered joystick, and you can even purchase tokens for individual game plays, just like in the old arcade days.
