Apple this week launched a new pre-release version of Remote Desktop, the company’s utility for managing Mac computers on a network.

Apple Remote Desktop 3.7 is immediately available to all registered Mac developers and is required for compatibility with OS X v10.9 Mavericks.

However, the system requirements only ask for OS X 10.7.5 (Lion), so developers can test the new software on any OS X version in between.

According to developers with access to the release notes, Apple Remote Desktop 3.7 allows automatic copy / paste between local and remote computers during screen sharing, and improves multi-display support.

The new software also supports managing computers with multiple IP addresses, while the Share Screen feature has been enhanced.

For example, Apple is now allowing admins to choose to share either the main display or all displays of the source computer.

To download Apple Remote Desktop, developers must visit the Mac Dev Center with their credentials at hand.
