The official Remote application designed by Apple for controlling other devices from your iPhone or iPad has received a major update, adding support for iOS 7 and the latest iTunes builds.

According to Apple, Remote version 4.0 “has been completely redesigned for iOS 7 and adds support for iTunes 11.1.”

The whole app is flatter and cleaner visually speaking, while the iTunes-support thing is for people using the app to control their music libraries on a PC or a Mac.

You can download Remote and use it for free indefinitely, but the latest version now actually requires iOS 7. So whether or not you like the new OS, if you want to take advantage of the new Remote features you have no choice but to upgrade. The software is also supported in numerous languages.
