Apple Configurator 1.4 is now available for organizations managing iDevices with support for iOS 7 features and restrictions. The new version requires OS X Mountain Lion and iTunes 11.1 or later.

Configurator is a free tool developed by Apple itself to make it easy for anyone to mass-configure and deploy iPhones, iPads, and iPod touch devices in places like schools, offices, and various institutions.

Configurator 1.4 allows admins to modify account settings, access AirDrop, and connect supervised devices to any Mac. A Web Content Filter can be configured, along with AirPlay mirroring destinations and passwords, AirPrint printers, Open In functions, and Control Center or Notification Center on lock screen.

Users can configure the Limit Ad Tracking setting, install fonts, and employ the new Setup tab in Prepare, which provides various new options (all of which are detailed in Apple’s HT5895 KB article).
