Commenters on the Mac App Store indicate that Rovio has not quite fixed the trackpad issues posed by the initial build of Angry Birds Rio for Mac OS X, though some are reporting a good experience. Now at version 1.0.1, the desktop version of Angry Birds Rio for Mac is immediately available for download exclusively from the Mac App Store.

Released just last week as a $5 download for anyone running Mac OS X Snow Leopard with the Mac App Store installed, Angry Birds Rio can be played both on mobile devices, and on desktop computers.

iPhone and iPod touch users can download and play the game for as long as they want (including a lifetime of updates) for just one buck.

iPad owners have a special, HD version to download for $4.99.

On the Mac, Angry Birds Rio is priced the same, and it’s played using either the mouse, or a trackpad.

Early adopters, however, soon found that Angry Birds Rio does not behave well on certain systems, so Rovio launched an update - Angry Birds Rio 1.0.1. It’s available for free download today.

However, users are still complaining about “trackpad glitches” and say that some gestures are non responsive.

“The graphic is nice and everything, but the trackpad glitches. Fix it and it would be one of the top games on Apple Store!” user Tenzin Lungtok said, after updating to the new version.

“It’s causing my 17” 2011 MBP with 8mg [sic] ram to freeze up, thats [sic] hard to do… they did an update and now it doesn’t freeze up everytime [sic] I try a 3 finger swipe but the options are still unresponsive and it froze the machine again,” another user, David Boice, wrote. “Guess I’ll wait for the next update before trying again.. to bad, it was a fun game.”

One user, however, seems to be happy with the update. Chad Goemans rejoiced after installing the update saying, “I cant [sic] stop plating! thank you for dixing the trackpad concerns its [sic] now perfect”.
