The volume of personalization content Microsoft is offering to customers running Windows 7 has grown to impressive proportions. There are approximately 115 theme packs and some 80 wallpapers available for download free of charge via the Windows Personalization Gallery.

But Microsoft is showing no signs of stopping. Quite to the contrary in fact, the promise from the Redmond company is that additional themes and wallpapers will be added in the future expanding the collection already offered to users.

“As of late October there are almost 115 themes and about 80 wallpapers on the gallery, and I’m adding new ones all the time. I also keep an eye on your comments for ideas on new themes and wallpapers.

“Some of the Windows 7 themes I’ve published recently because of suggestions you’ve submitted include Wolves, Horses, Lightning, and an anime-style theme called Girls Rock… Check them out,” revealed Jennifer Shepherd, site manager for the Windows Personalization Gallery.

Some Softpedia readers might already be familiar with Jennifer Shepherd. If you’ve read the interview I did with Mike Swanson recently, then it’s there that you’ve come across it in my articles.

Mike Swanson is the author of the photography in a superb Windows 7 theme, and I know that Jennifer is looking into getting additional theme packs with snapshots from Mike, which is an excellent idea, if you ask me.

The Personalization Gallery is “filled with themes and many other things, including desktop backgrounds, gadgets, and tips on how to set personalization settings that you can use to spiff up your Windows desktop.

“It’s available in 36 languages and 58 markets. Most of the downloads on the gallery are the same no matter where you live, but some are unique to specific places,” Shepherd added.
