If you’re planning to download the first Windows patches of the year manually and avoid using the built-in Windows Update feature, we’ve got some great news for you.

Microsoft has recently rolled out the Security Release ISO Image January 2014 that comprises all Windows security updates, which means that you can now install all of them regardless of the Windows version powering your device.

Keep in mind that this pack is only focused on Windows, so you can’t patch any other software belonging to Microsoft, be it Office or Internet Explorer.

January 2014 brought us four non-security bulletins, one of which addressed a critical zero-day flaw in Windows XP and allowing attackers to exploit vulnerabilities using a malicious PDF document. Microsoft has already confirmed that it received reports of successful exploits, so it’s essential to deploy the released patches as soon as possible.
