Adobe has released a major new version of its Photoshop CC software for Mac and Windows customers, delivering a huge set of changes, including a handful of new features.
Existing customers can download Adobe Photoshop CC 14.2 for free and get Perspective Warp (a feature for manipulating multiple perspectives in an image) and linked Smart Objects, which enables artists to keep design elements at hand.
The new version includes a flagship new feature which supports 3D printing, with Adobe saying, “Now you can design, edit and print in 3D using the world’s best imaging tool.”
A great deal of enhancements has been made with the Mac user in mind. For example, Photoshop CC 14.2 is the first version of the photography software to offer support for the new Mac Pro (late 2013) model.
“The Photoshop CC 14.2 update provides GPU compatibility support for the new Apple Mac Pro. The 14.2 update will allow Photoshop to take full advantage of one of the two available GPUs at a time,” according to Adobe.
“We expect to add support for both of the new Apple Mac Pro’s GPUs, and continue to optimize our customers experience by supporting additional GPU operations in a future release,” the Flash maker adds.
Furthermore, the update includes App Nap optimizations for OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) users.
Numerous JDI features and enhancements are also included, all of which can be found listed in the official release notes. Some notable bug fixes have been highlighted below.
