14 DAY TRIAL // Sunnyvale, California-based Advanced Micro Devices is currently expected to announce the official debut of its much-anticipated, next-generation line of Radeon graphics cards, providing users with an increased performance in gaming applications, but also a couple of new features that aren't available for the chip maker's current lineup. However, before the said cards become official, the company has decided it's high time to provide its customers with an updated pack of graphics drives for the company's current line of Radeon graphics cards.
Part of the company's new Catalyst Software Suite 9.9, users will be able to take advantage of the updated Radeon display drive 8.65, as well as the Southbridge/IXP driver and the HyrdaVision for Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 operating system. As it is the case with every new pack of graphics drivers, AMD's new Catalyst Software Suite 9.9 has been put into place to provide users with support for the latest applications, an increased performance for current applications and fixes for a number of known issues.
According to the release notes, available in the new suite, the new AMD Radeon graphics drives will deliver support to users of the Radeon HD 2000, HD 3000 and HD 4000 series of graphics cards, but there's no mention of the upcoming Radeon HD 5000 series, which could mean that AMD is waiting a bit longer before taking the official wraps off its new cards. Nevertheless, it's recommended that you check the release notes before upgrading to the new release, to see if the issues you have encountered with your Radeon graphics cards have been fixed with it.
