AMD announced last night, March 28th, the immediate availability for download of the AMD Catalyst 12.3 video driver for Linux platforms.

As usual, there are no release notes from AMD and users can't really tell if they fixed something or not. In any case, Phoronix states that the driver doesn't have XOrg Server 1.12 support and there are no other bug fixes or features present.

Some users already use AMD Catalyst 12.4 Beta which comes with improved OpenCL support and fixes an issue with XVideo in the new xserver.

AMD Catalyst 12.3 video driver provides production support for the following Linux-based operating systems: Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Novell SUSE Enterprise Linux, OpenSuSE Linux and Ubuntu Linux.

This ATI/AMD graphics driver is available for both 32-bit and 64-bit architectures.
