Each month, AMD releases a new version of the ATI Catalyst drivers, and it seems that that time is finally upon us once more, the company having now unleashed the ATI Catalyst 10.8 Software Suite, the full set of WHQL-certified drivers for Radeon GPUs.
The new software suite is available in versions for Windows XP 32-bit, Windows XP 64-bit, Windows 7/Vista 64-bit and Windows 7/Vista 32-bit.
One of the main new features in this release is the support for OpenGL ES 2.0 specification, and for 3D accelerated graphics within web browsers that are compatible with it.
AMD also took the time to implement a checkbox control within the Catalyst Control Center, which allows a higher level of control over video quality and applies the enhanced quality to Internet Video.
What's more, image quality has been improved for StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty, and there is now support for anti-aliasing.
Also 4-way/Quad CorssFireX configurations will now reach a significantly higher performance when used in Eyefinity setups.
As for other games, performance is improved by a percentage of 2 to 10 percent in Far Cry 2, Left 4 Dead 2 and Stormrise.

- Stormrise- Performance increases 5-10% on ATI Radeon HD 5600 series and ATI Radeon HD 5500 series configurations
