Workers are striking to have their salaries doubled

A cost evaluation reveals that doubling minimum wages for fast food workers wouldn't increase the price of food items that much.

According to a calculation made by a University of Kansas student and relayed by HuffPost, a BigMac would only cost 68 cents more.

That means that either we are paying too much for fast food, or employees are being paid too little.

The exact calculation sees the prices rise from an average $3.99 (€3) to $4.67 (€3.5).

Dollar Menu items would cost a bit more than the price advertised with the name, but they would only be evaluated at 17 cents (€0.12) more.

As I wrote before, a strike was held in New York, where workers lobbied for getting paid $15 (€11) per hour, which is double what they are paid now. They are currently struggling to survive while working 2 or 3 jobs.
