Netbooks and portable computer systems are among the most popular choice for the majority of computer users, as they provide an all-in-one computer solution that can be taken on the road. However, these systems have their limitations, especially when it comes to the visual experience delivered by the small screens. This is where DoubleSight Displays, a manufacturer of multi monitor solutions, comes into place, providing users with a new line of Smart USB Monitors. Designed to provide a choice for laptop or netbook users, these new monitors make use of a traditional USB connection, which makes it easier to upgrade the visual surface that an end-user can take advantage of.

“DoubleSight continually seeks new ways to help users expand their viewable workspace and make multitasking easier,” said Mr. DellaMaggiore, director of sales and marketing at DoubleSight Displays. “Now adding a second or third monitor to a computer has never been easier. Simply connect the DoubleSight Smart USB Monitor via a USB Port and run the installation software. That is it,” Mr. DellaMaggiore added.

The company's new Smart USB Monitors have been designed to use a single USB connector for both power and video, offering a convenient alternative for connecting a separate display to your notebook or netbook computer system. According to the company the key features of the new Smart USB monitors include:

Built-in Support for Multi Monitor Mode

Perfect for Laptops, Netbooks and Desktops

Lightweight and Portable

Landscape and Portrait Viewing

USB for Power and Video (no video port required)

PC and MAC Compatible

Supports a Variety of Applications

The Smart USB monitors are available in several different models, which include 7-inch and 9-inch LCD screen sizes, while some models are available with a built-in web cam. Each of these monitors bundles DisplayLink software, an adjustable desktop Stand, a protective travel cover for portable use, USB cable and a quick installation guide and Owner's Manual. Price wise, the 7-inch Smart USB DS-70U goes for an estimated street price of US$119, but that can go as high as US$159 for a 9-inch model with built-in web cam.
